In this era of online communication, emails have become part of our everyday life. It is easy to send or receive messages, documents, photos and more in a few seconds. That’s why we have lots of options when referring to email services providers.
One of the first, which makes an impact on our society, is Hotmail which is known as Outlook now, the platform of Microsoft. Let’s briefly discuss how it began and how you can sign up and in to create a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
From Hotmail to Outlook
Hotmail was a service created independently in 1996 that allows people around the world to send receive emails for free. After a year of being released, Microsoft bought the technology and included it in the Microsoft Software Service. At that point, they change the name Hotmail to MSN Hotmail. In 1999, it already was the most popular email service with 30 million active users.
Since then, it had suffered many changes. Due to the release of other platforms, it was obligated to improve the speed and access of it. For that reason, in 2005 it was renamed as Windows Live Hotmail and had modifications to satisfy customer’s needs. But in 2012, it was changed for Outlook and it evolved greatly changing not only the name but also the look, functions and much more. Until this date, Outlook continues to be one of the favorite email services with 400 million active members.
